Main directions of the academic work of the Department
The main task of the Department of History is to educate bachelors and masters in History and Pedagogical Education. The staff of the Department conducts basic courses in Russian history, cultural studies, basics of Russian statehood, elective courses for students of Moscow City University.
Main areas of scientific work of the Department
- study of the regularities of Russia’s historical development,
- research of topical problems of historical science in the field of parliamentarianism, statehood in Russia, socio-political movements, history of elites, as well as cultural studies and local history.
Within the framework of educational and methodical work, the academic staff of the Department are actively involved in work with applicants, in conducting entrance examinations in history and social studies, entrance and candidacy examinations for postgraduate studies, are authors of textbooks and teaching aids, members of juries of university, interuniversity and international conferences, All-Russian Olympiads in history and social studies, carry out curatorial activities.
