Strating from April 6 MCU resumes distance learning classes at all departments.
Here is Rector Igor Remorenko‘s address to students and teachers:
Dear coleagues!
Not so long ago, Dr. Michael Bruening from Missouri University of Science and Technology, while struggling to master the distance learning technologies, wrote a cover of the I will survive hit by Gloria Gaynor. Professor shared the hard experience of the teachers forced to teach from their homes using the distance learning technologies.
You can read this story and watch the video of Professor Bruening singing the song at the INSIDE Higher Ed’s website.
Currently we face quite uneasy times. MCU staff also experience challenges in grasping the new teaching format.
However, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dmitry Agranat and Head of the IT Department Ruslan Suleymanov have been engaged in preparing the next stage of distance learning activities starting this week.
I am pleased to see that most of our teachers, IT specialists, and methodologists have the mindset to overcome the challenges and adapt to the new unusual conditions. Today we can share a piece of artwork that was created by our staff last week. I think, it is a great example of surmounting the feeling of dismay and starting to believe in oneself.
I express my kind regards to those who have been engaged in creating this video:
Ruslan Suleymanov, Head of the IT Department
Irina Levina, Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts
Elena Tareva, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages
Olga Georgievskaya, Associate Professor at the Institute of Culture and Arts
Nina Oparina, Professor at the Institute of Culture and Arts
Vladimir Portnikov, Associate Professor at the Institute of Culture and Arts
Ekaterina Sibirenkova, Department’s Assistant at the Institute of Culture and Arts, singer
Lyudmila Borbot’ko, Associate Professor at the Language and Translation Studies, Institute of Foreign Languages
