The All-Russian festival-contest “Descendants of Great Masters” took place at Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University from July 3-7, 2024. Approximately 200 students from 38 regions of the country gathered in Volgograd to showcase their skills. The festival began with participants presenting their works in the initial correspondence stage, and based on the results, finalists were selected. In the second phase of the competition, finalists were required to create a new work on a given topic within a day, with the topic only revealed on the day of the test.
The theme of this year’s competition revolved around family values. Representing Moscow City University, students Nelly Rostovtseva and Tamara Ignatieva from the Institute of Culture and Arts participated. Tamara emerged as the winner of the first prize in the category of “Artistic painting on glass”. Additionally, Professor Lyudmila Burovkina and Associate Professor Lyubov Novikova, both from the Department of Fine, Decorative Arts, and Design, and holding doctorate and PhD degrees respectively, served as experts in the festival for several years.
