On September 3, the Vladimir Potanin Foundation announced the University Ranking 2021 within the expert discussion “Role of Universities in Development and Innovations”. The ranking includes 75 Russia’s leading universities, whose students and teaching staff participate in the scholarship and grant Foundation contests. Moscow City University has taken the 21st—22nd place that is significant growth after the last year’s ranking where MCU took 56,5 place.
The ranking shows an experts’ aggregated assessment of the achievements of the universities’ students and teaching staff in the Fellowship and Grant Foundation Competitions. The total score is comprised of the following parameters:
- The number of the university students participating in the Fellowship Competition;
- The share of the university students winning the Fellowship Competition;
- The average score of the university students participating in the online stage of the Fellowship Competition;
- The average score of the university students participating in the in-person stage of the Fellowship Competition;
- The average score of the university teaching staff participating in the Grant Competition;
- The number of the university teaching staff winning the Grant Competition;
- The number of the university representatives participating in the Academic Bridges Competition;
- The number of the university representatives participating in the Foundation School;
- The number of the university representatives winning the individual or project competition at the Foundation School;
- The share of applications for the Fellowship Competition rejected for plagiarism;
- The share of applications for the Grant Competition rejected for plagiarism.
