Department of English Philology

The Department of English Philology, established in 1995 alongside our university, is actively involved in scientific research in linguistics, linguodidactics, and literary studies. A scientific school The Issues of Modern International Literary Studies has been formed within the department.

With a dedicated team of approximately 40 lecturers, including long-standing members, the Department of English Philology boasts experienced scholars and experts. Many lecturers are renowned authors or co-authors of English language teaching materials approved for use in secondary schools across the Russian Federation, as well as university textbooks and teaching aids. Notably, the department has welcomed numerous graduates from our institute, contributing to its growth and success over its 27-year history.

Students of the department have valuable opportunities to apply their knowledge in linguistics and intercultural communication. They act as consultants in organizing and conducting offline and online meetings and negotiations with international organizations. Additionally, they support intercultural and interprofessional cooperation, engaging in written and oral communication tasks such as creating, editing, and translating texts for diverse audiences.
