The international online school “Chaika”, which unites Russian-speaking children from Morocco, Sweden, Cyprus, Greece, Canada, Germany, and Thailand, held a class on 26 November in cooperation with the Department of Socio-Cultural Activity and Performing Acts of the MCU Institute of Culture and Arts.
Ulyana Nedelnitsyna, assistant of the department, held an interactive workshop called “Russian Soul in Dance” alongside the the folk dance group “Bogorodskiye Laces” of the “Bogorodskoye” Territorial Department of the Mossovet District Community Center. The participants got acquainted with the types of Russian folk dances, learned about the peculiarities of the Russian folk costume, and learned several dance moves. The class was attended by teachers who asked questions about the peculiarities and semantics of dance movements and showed fragments of Russian dances that they learned with their students in Thailand. The class aroused interest and the participants’ desire to engage with Russian dance culture once again.
