November 9, 2021 Professor of MCU’s Chinese Language Department Vladimir Kurdyumov visited Fo Guang University (Jiaosi, Taiwan). During the meeting Fo Guang University signed an Agreement on Cooperation with MCU.
Fo Guang University is a young private university. It is located in a picturesque nature reserve near Taipei. A new campus is a part of modern university insrastructure. At Fo Guang Universuty 3,000 students study. Among them there are students from South Africa, Malaysia, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan and Paraguay.
Fo Guang University’s Rector Mr. Prof.Ho Jow-Fei, Vice-Rector Mr. Prof. Fu Chao-Ming, lecturers of the Department of Chinese Philology, specialists of the International Relations Department and the Center for Chinese as a Foreign Language discussed the issues related to conducting of Chinese language online courses for MCU’s students, organizing public lectures at both universities. The negotiations were also connected with the issue of conducting online workshops on Chinese linguistics and teaching of the Chinese language with participation of MCU’s lecturers and Fo Guang University’s specialists.
On behalf of the leadership of the MCU’s Institute of Foreign Languages Professor Vladimir Kurdyumov also invited colleagues from Fo Guang University to participate in the 1st International Conference “Teaching Chinese language and Culture: Past, Present, Future“. The conference will be held at MCU’s Institute of Foreign Languages in February 2022.
