Here is the programme of events of the VII Annual International Symposium “Education and the City: Designing Development”, which will be held at MCU from 18 to 20 April 2024.
Let us focus on the events of the 1st day, which will take place in the representative building of MCU (8 Sadovaya-Samotechnaya St.).
9:30-10:00 – Opening of the symposium. Words of welcome will be said by Igor Remorenko, Rector of MCU, Svetlana Vachkova, Director of the Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education, and Daria Milyaeva, Head of the International Relations Department.
10:00-12:00 – Plenary session “The problem of measuring the social effects of social and humanitarian practices, projects, programmes and initiatives”. The section will be moderated by Svetlana Vachkova. Speakers include Natalia Gladkikh, Vladimir Vainer, Vladimir Balakirev, Ilya Sheburakov, Olga Nemirovich, Ivan Chernov, Anna Skorik, Ekaterina Haustova, Ilmira Vagizova, Anastasia Savelyeva.
12:15-13:45 – Round table “Practices of social impact assessment of projects in the sphere of education, science and business”. Moderator – Valentina Salakhova, Leading Researcher of the Centre for Analytical Research and Modeling in Education of Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education of MCU Presentations will be made by Natalia Gladkikh, Vladimir Balakirev, Vladimir Vainer, German Klimenko, Ilya Sheburakov, Elena Makarova, Satyajit Majumdar, Martin Gluckman, Ekaterina Haustova.
12:15-13:45 – Discussion club “Architectural Education. Mission of the Architect”. Nikolay Metlenkov, editor-in-chief of the journal “Architecture and Construction of Russia”, professor, will offer to discuss the actual content of modern architectural creativity. Professor from Moscow Aviation Institute Konstantin Kiyanenko will also take part in the event.
12:00-14:00 – Round table “City for All: Creating and Developing an Inclusive Environment”. The discussion will be moderated by Elena Ushakova, Interim Director of the Institute of Special Education and Psychology of MCU. The invited experts will be: Tatiana Bengraf, Adela Vilshanskaya, Elena Ekzhanova, Irina Levchenko, Victoria Manuilova, Natalia Miklyaeva, Maria Prochukhaeva, Elena Samsonova, Anisia Solovyova, Svetlana Kharlamova, Artur Haustov, Natalia Tsegelnaya.
12:15-13:45 – Mini-symposium “New educational infrastructure and its impact on the urban landscape”. The section will be moderated by Elena Ivanova, Head of the Laboratory of Educational Infrastructures of the Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education of MCU. Among the speakers are Ekaterina Barsukova, Anna Ter-Grigoryan, Alexandra Yangurazova. Also: Daria Javadova, Tatiana Mishchenko, Elena Aralova, Anna Akopyan, Anastasia Korobskaya, Ramilya Pozdnysheva, Galina Vinokurova, Daria Loseva.
14:30-16:00 – Section “University in the context of the city”. Moderator – Ivan Nikitin. Speakers – Lilit Asoyan, Yulia Bocharova, Svetlana Kobachevskaya, Irina Shevlyakova-Borzenko, Natalia Patutina, Natalia Ageeva.
14:30-16:30 – Mini-symposium “University in the socio-cultural space of the city”. The moderator of the event is Svetlana Chernenkaya, Professor at the Institute of Humanities of MCU. Joining the discussion will be: Olesya Zmazneva, Nikita Kosov, Vladimir Kuzmin, Olga Ladokhina, Irina Mikhailova, Elena Kuvshinova.
14:30-16:00 – Section “Modern quality education for the city”. The event will be conducted by Svetlana Vachkova. Presentations will be made by: Victoria Prudnikova, Yulia Aparina, Fedor Vasserman, Elena Kuzmina, Daria Goloukhova, Olga Vaskova, Ekaterina Davydova, Leila Sarieva, Yulia Kovalyova, Irina Zhulanova, Alexander Aronov.
16:15-17:45 – Round table “Community Manager of Urban Communities”. The moderator of the section will be Elena Ivanova, Head of the Laboratory of Educational Infrastructures of the Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education of MCU. The round table will be attended by: Sergey Kuznetsov, Alexander Lukichev, Lyubov Gurarii, Olga Vlasova, Ekaterina Barsukova, as well as undergraduate and graduate students studying on the retraining programme “Community Manager of Urban Communities”.
16:15-17:45 – Section “Modern digital solutions in the context of the city”. The moderator of the event is Boris Yarmakhov, Associate Professor of the Department of Education Informatisation at the Institute of Digital Education, Scientific Director of the Centre for Data Analysis of the Institute of Digital Education of MCU. Presentations will be made by: Svetlana Morozova, Arman Avetyan, Diana Budko, Anna Deniskina, Olesya Senenko.
16:15-17:45 – Round table “Urban Identity and Urban Communities”. The event will be moderated by Natalia Ageyeva, researcher at the Centre for Analytical Research and Modelling in Education of the Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education of MCU. Natalia Levochkina, Irina Aglicheva, Olga Vlasova, Lyubov Borusyak, Ksenia Kikteva will be invited to the discussion.
