MCU researchers at EDULEARN 2021

Elena Nekhorosheva and Daria Kasatkina from the Laboratory of Urban Health and Wellbeing at the MCU Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education and Ekaterina Enchikova from the University of Porto have participated in the 13th Annual International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies EDULEARN 2021.

The conference was dedicated to the most urgent issues of modern education:

  • Distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemics;
  • New experiences in education and pedagogical innovations;
  • Opportunities of advanced and lifelong learning;
  • Virtual learning and new educational technologies;
  • Educational software.

Within the session “Health Sciences Education”, the researchers have presented the report “Health Education Initiatives — Shaping Health Literacy in the School Teams” which introduced the methodology, the process, and the outcomes of creating and promoting school communities (teams). A school team is an initiative group with a horizontal hierarchy, which brings together the school administration, medical staff, teachers, class supervisors, and psychologists who are interested in promoting health literacy in their schools. The project of school teams development and support has been initiated in schools of Zelenograd, Russia.

The paper featuring the key results of this research has been published in the EDULEARN 2021 Proceedings.
