MCU graduate wins the Olympics

On February 7, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) athletes won the team event in figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

The ROC team scored 74 points and was ahead of the U.S. and Japan teams, which won silver and bronze medals.

The ROC team included Victoria Sinitsina, a 2016 graduate from the MCU’s Institute of Natural Sciences and Sports Technologies, who performed an ice dance together with her partner Nikita Katsalapov.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the athletes on the victory:

You have succeeded in meeting all the challenges of the team figure skating event, having demonstrated brilliant skills, resilience and willpower as well as the determination to fight until the end and win. And, of course, you have given unforgettable moments of joy and triumph to your families, mentors, and numerous fans.
