From June 1 to June 15, four doctoral students from various universities of Kazakhstan completed a scientific internship at MCU’s Institute of Natural Sciences and Sports Technologiesunder the guidance of Professor Sergei Sumatokhin, Head of the Department of Biology and Human Physiology.
Doctoral students participated in the educational process, worked in the fundamental library and visited partner organisations of Moscow City University.
At the Zvenigorod biological station of Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), the guests were introduced to the organisation and conduct of field biological research by the Deputy Head of field practices of the Faculty of Biology, PhD, Associate Professor Igor Sergeev. In the MSU Earth Science Museum, a lesson with doctoral students was conducted by PhD, Professor Lyudmila Popova.
Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Kuznetsov introduced doctoral students to the history and main scientific directions of the Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology. The guests visited the laboratories of plant genome expression, the Department of Cell Biology and Biotechnology, and got acquainted with the cryocollection of cultivated plants of the institute.
As part of the cultural programme, the doctoral students visited the military historical park of culture and recreation “Patriot”. Following the internship, Professor Sergey Sumatokhin presented the doctoral students with certificates.
