On October 17, the delegation from Xi’an International University, China, paid a visit at the MCU’s Institute of Foreign Languages.
Founded in 1992 and located in the heart of Xi’an city, Xi’an International University is the first private institution permitted to carry out international education programs in Shaanxi province. The academics of the university include seven colleges offering 67 major fields of study, which cover management, economics, humanities, medicine, engineering, agriculture, and arts.
Professor Valentina Vashkyavichus, Head of the Chinese Language Department, and Ashot Dzhanumov, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, met with the Xi’an delegation headed by Executive President Dai Qizhi and Associate Director of International Center Hu Jianhua to discuss the prospects of cooperation between the institutions.
The parties discussed exchange within the fields of Russian as a Foreign Language, Translation Studies, Music and Art. Xi’an International University expressed willingness to promote the MCU’s research initiatives and participate in such conferences as Education and City, Big Data in Education.
It has been also agreed to launch a program for the Xi’an International University students with bachelor’s degrees to pursue their graduate studies at MCU. Xi’an’s teachers will have an opportunity to participate in the MCU’s advanced professional training programs.
In terms of cultural exchange, the parties will jointly organize annual music and art events featuring choir singing and instrumental performance.
