On September 24—October 3, European Junior and U23 Weightlifting Championships were held in Rovaniemi, Finland.
Nikita Khrulev, a student of the MCU’s Institute of Natural Sciences and Sports Technologies, joined the Russia National Team to participate in the 89 kg category competition. The athlete showed a result of 155 kg in the snatch and 191 kg in the clean and jerk. With an overall result of 346 kg, Nikita Khrulev took 3rd place.
This year has been outstandingly successful for the athlete. In July, Nikita Khrulev won the 5th Summer Youth Weightlifting Spartakiad in Anapa, Russia, with the national record in the clean and jerk of 157 kg and a total result of 347 kg.
