On September 29, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted the joint meeting of the Public Councils of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education, and the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science. Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber, moderated the discussion.
MCU Rector Igor Remorenko participated in the discussion as Chair of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science. Igor Remorenko pointed out the importance of joint meetings and listed a range of questions that mutual efforts of the councils can resolve.
Kirill Barannikov, Vice-Rector for Strategy, underscored in his report that distance learning during the pandemic enforced and accelerated the current trends and changes of higher education. They comprise flexible programs of competence development, the introduction of digital ecosystems and big data to universities, the development of interactive content, models of comprehensive assessment, and new digital didactics.
Kirill Barannikov named the crucial components of the development of higher education:
The three main focuses of strategic efforts include the development of new platforms for designing new practices in online learning based on consortiums of universities, research institutions, and enterprises; the research on digital educational technologies and digital didactics, their introduction to teaching practice; and the development of standards of hybrid learning.
Vladislav Grib emphasized that the meetings of the three councils are traditionally held during the Professors Forum. They promote the exchange of opinions on the interaction between ministries and the discussion of urgent questions. Concluding the meeting, Vladislav Grib underlined that the suggestions and comments would be included in the final resolution of the Civic Chamber.
