MCU alumni work in Moscow museums

MCU History Museum collects information about the achievements of our graduates. Among them are school principals, teachers, famous athletes, public figures, as well as employees of leading museums in Moscow. The university provides such an opportunity, although MCU doesn’t have a training program in museum business. Our graduates’ successful employment in prominent Moscow museums stems from their comprehensive historical and pedagogical training, museum and socio-cultural practice during their studies, the presence of university museums, and an extensive extracurricular excursion programme.

Kirill Dryanov has been working at the State Museum of Defense of Moscow for 27 years, where he currently holds the position of a first-class methodologist for scientific and educational activities. As a well-known museum guide, Kirill, who was born and raised in Moscow, started working at the museum after graduating from N.K. Krupskaya Pedagogical College No. 3 in 1997. He simultaneously pursued a distance learning program at the History Department of Moscow City University from 1998 to 2003.

With extensive knowledge about the Moscow Battle and the museum’s exhibits, Kirill conducts tours for visitors of all ages, creates interactive experiences, quests, video tours, and holiday programmes. He actively participates in conferences and provides consultation to creators of films and TV shows about the Great Patriotic War. Kirill is often and willingly written about in the media and interviewed. He is always delighted to meet students from Moscow City University and appreciates their involvement in the museum’s exhibitions.

Anton Makhnyrev is the leading guide of the State Historical Museum. He holds a degree in history teaching from MCU Institute of Humanities (2010) and completed his PhD at Moscow City University in 2015. His journey began in 2008 as a student guide at the Ostankino Museum-Estate, while also working as a history teacher at school No. 1094. Following his defense of the dissertation, Anton worked at the Research Institute of Metropolitan Education before becoming a tour guide and poet at the State Historical Museum in 2015. He knows history perfectly, has a brilliant command of the word, records video lectures and leads tours for both students and students, as well as for high-ranking guests of the museum. Anton is the author of several historical books and poetry collections. He has also written a heartfelt poem dedicated to Alexander Chufistov, his classmate and the headmaster of the 1794 school, who died heroically (06/24/1987−02/19/2024).

Irina Klyukina, a young employee at the Victory Museum, graduated from Medvedkovo MCU college in 2018 and later completed her studies at the Institute of Special Education and Psychology in 2021. She started her career as a kindergarten teacher but always had a passion for museum education. Irina actively participated in exhibitions and classes at the college museum and even organized exhibitions at the kindergarten. Her dream of working in a museum came true when she found a job at the Victory Museum. After an interview process and training at the museum, she became a tour guide in 2022. Irina conducts programs and excursions for visitors of all ages, develops new educational programmes, and creates video tours. She places a special focus on showcasing the heroic and selfless efforts during the Siege of Leningrad, as well as education and cultural development during the Great Patriotic War.
