From April 16 to 18, 2026, the 9th Annual International Symposium “Education and City: People and Institutions” will take place in a mixed format at Moscow City University. We invite researchers and academics, educators and students of pedagogical universities, urban planning professionals, as well as representatives of business and civil society interested in the development of education and the sustainable future of cities!
Taking part in the symposium is a unique opportunity to learn about current research on the role of education and educational institutions in urban life, discuss the implementation of the university’s third mission and the possibilities for sustainable development in an era of uncertainty, meet leading experts and like-minded individuals for future collaborations, and build horizontal networks and new research teams. Participants can engage with four main discussion tracks:
- University as a Centre for Urban Research
- Educational Environment of the City
- Cultural Environment of the Megacity as a Platform for Innovative Humanitarian Projects
- Professional Development, City Context
Join us to discover how to integrate urban issues into educational programmes, which digital tools and AI solutions actually work in universities and schools, how to develop mentoring and career pathways for educators, how social entrepreneurship projects and partnerships with the city improve quality of life, and what skills are needed by those shaping the cities of today.
