As part of international cooperation, MCU Institute of Digital Education organised seminars on applied mathematics and mathematical education on December 16 and 18, 2024. The sessions were conducted by Sıdıka Şule Şener, Associate Professor from the Department of Mathematics at Atatürk University (Erzurum, Turkey), for students and faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Physics.
The seminars explored scientific challenges related to the application of parabolic equations of mathematical physics in practical research. During these discussions, Sıdıka Şule Şener shared her original scientific findings on the topic.
In one seminar, Sıdıka Şule Şener presented insights into the structure and approach of mathematical education within the Turkish education system, capturing the interest of attendees.
The final seminar featured a dynamic scientific exchange between the Department of Mathematics and Physics staff and Sıdıka Şule Şener. Topics included national distinctions in teaching mathematics in Russia and Turkey and the significance of applied mathematics in education. The discussion involved prominent participants such as Viktor Kornilov, the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Physics and Professor, and other faculty members, including Ekaterina Bazhanova, Maria Kochagina, and Yuliya Semenyachenko, as well as Larisa Denishcheva (participating online) and Ildar Safuanov. Notably, Vladimir Pokrovsky, Associate Professor with extensive experience in the Department of Mathematics and Physics, also contributed to the discussion.
