On October 16, 2025, representatives from Central China Normal University visited Moscow City University (MCU) to participate in the VII International Scientific Conference “Modern {DIGITAL} Didactics” and to discuss future research projects with representatives of MCU.

The Chinese delegation included leading specialists in digital education and AI: Xu Jian – Deputy Director of the Education Informatisation Strategy Research Base of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Deputy Dean of the Hubei Provincial Digital Education Research Institute, and Deputy Director of the Digital Education Planning and Evaluation Research Centre; Chen Min – Junior Research Fellow at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education; and Zhang Daixi – General Director of the Education Informatisation Strategy Research Base at Central China Normal University.
The guests participated in the session “AI Regulation across Borders: Russia and China,” organised by MCU Vice-Rector Ruslan Suleymanov as part of the conference “Modern {DIGITAL} Didactics”.
Professor Wu Di delivered a remote presentation on “Digital Literacy in the Artificial Intelligence Era.” He serves as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Executive Deputy Director of the National Engineering Research Centre for E-Learning and the National Engineering Research Centre for Educational Big Data, as well as Executive Deputy Director of the Education Informatisation Strategy Research Base of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
During the session, participants discussed with their Russian colleagues the challenges and opportunities for developing digital competence amid the rapid advancement of AI technologies in both countries.
As part of the visit, the guests toured the MCU Museum Complex and learned about the University’s history from the Head of the Museum Complex Galina Chernykh and Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Development and Educational Activities Oleg Zakirov.
An important component of the visit was a working meeting with Vice-Rectors Ruslan Suleymanov and Oleg Zakirov, representatives from the MCU Institute of Digital Education – Vladimir Abramov, Alexander Grinshkun, Polina Merenkova, and Anastasia Zakova – as well as Alexandra Belova, a representative from the International Relations Department. The Chinese colleagues presented the key research directions and current projects of their university. During the dialogue, the parties identified significant alignment in their research interests, particularly in the field of digital education. The following areas were designated as primary directions for further cooperation:
- Development and analysis of standards in digital education;
- Preparation of joint scientific publications;
- Synergy of existing research projects.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop the partnership, and specific steps were outlined for implementing joint research initiatives, including within the framework of the Russian-Chinese Center for Artificial Intelligence in Education.
