On April 21, the district semifinals of the All-Russian Competition Education Flagships. Students started in Moscow City University.
The competition started on November 17, 2021. Over 26 000 students from 84 regions of Russia applied for participation in the competition Education Flagships. Students. In February, the participants took a remote testing which included three units: functional literacy, universal cultural and thematic tests.
The Education Flagships. Students is aimed at searching, developing and supporting promising students of universities and secondary vocational education, with a high level of subject expertise, fundamental competencies in psychology and education, and supraprofessional skills. The competition is initiated by the presidential platform Russia – the Country of Opportunities and rolled out within the federal project “Social Lifts for Everyone” of the national project Education.
The Central Federal District semifinals brought together 85 students with the best results in the remote testing stage. At the semifinals of the competition, the students participated in the Case Tournament, the Business Game, the Project-based Sprint: School of Future, attended different workshops, open lectures, and got acquainted with leading educational institutions.

Elena Gevorkyan, MCU First Vice-Rector, commented on the participation of MCU students in the contest:
One of the main goals of our university is to train teachers who will be beneficial for our country, schoolchildren, and their parents, so that our graduates would benefit those whom they will teach. There are students of Moscow City University among the participants of the contest, and I wish them a successful performance. Each of the participants is a well-deserved representative of their region, because they have dared and accepted the challenge to take part in the competition Education Flagships. Students. The awardees will receive post-project support. As a result of the competition, the winners, finalists, and semi-finalists will be united in a community. They work with mentors, the prize-winners and experts of the competition Education Flagships. School, which is also implemented by the presidential platform Russia – the Country of Opportunities. The awardees will also be able to go on free tourist trips around Russia within the project More than Trip which aims to develop domestic tourism within Russia. The prize-winners will have an opportunity to complete training programs and internships in the all-Russian children’s centers Smena and Ocean, as well as receive gifts from the contest’s partners.
