On June 18, Moscow City University hosted a meeting with representatives of Jining University, which was devoted to discussing the possibilities of cooperation between educational institutions.
Jining University was founded in 1951 as Jining Teacher Training College. It has set itself the goal of providing high-quality education that is focused on practical needs. The university is actively developing a “smart campus” and the level of information technology allows it to be one of the leading educational institutions in Shandong Province. Jining University’s motto is quality is the main thing: it considers education to be an important stage in human life, which is why it is in the continuous process of developing educational technology strategies and pays special attention to improving the quality of teaching.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Vice-rector of MCU and Rector of Jining University. Roman Komarov introduced Moscow City University, spoke about the university’s learning process and the development prospects that can be achieved as a result of cooperation. V. Qingming spoke about Jining University and shared his vision of joint work of the universities.
During the meeting, representatives of both sides actively discussed areas of possible cooperation. Special attention was paid to the discussion of 2+2 joint programme, as well as opportunities for staff and student mobility and collaborative scientific research. The Chinese partners expressed their interest in developing student exchange with Moscow City University. In particular, representatives from Jining University showed particular interest in the programmes offered by the Institute of Foreign Languages of Moscow City University. These programmes include teacher training and teaching Russian as a foreign language. They also expressed interest in the programmes of the Institute of Culture and Arts, that offers courses in fine arts and music for Chinese students.
After the meeting, representatives from MCU and Jining University agreed to continue cooperation and develop long-term plans for collaborative work in the field of education.
