How is the international localization of SAM group tools going?

 

On August 24 within the framework of the 4th Annual International Symposium “Education and the City: quality education for modern cities”, a panel discussion “International localization and application of SAM Group tools” will be held.

Center for International Cooperation in Education Development (CICED) and Europe and Central Asia Comparative Education Society (ECA-CES) organize the discussion.

The keynote speakers include Arsen Bagdasaryan (Armenia), Zeinep Zhamakeeva (Kyrgyzstan), Baktygul’ Shamshidinova (Kyrgyzstan), Savzali Dzhafarov (Tadjikistan), Vasily Rusetsky (Belarus), Alexey Vorontsov (Russia) and the specialists of the Laboratory of Activity-Based Education Design of MCU’s Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education Sergey Gorbov, Vladimir Lvovsky and Pyotr Nezhnov.

Since 2008 the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the World Bank have been implementing a program to improve the quality of basic education in the CIS countries, Asia and Africa (Russia Education Aid for Development – READ).  Within the framework of the program the development and localization of the most promising Russian methodologies and tools for assessing the quality of education in the partner countries has been supported.

The panel discussion will be devoted to the issue of this work and a new cross-country project on the development and implementation of experimental educational and methodological modules to improve learning achievements and eliminate learning deficits among primary school students based on the methodology of the three-level assessment of SAM subject competencies.

Another important topic of discussion is the training of teachers to use the SAM methodology in their work practice. The keynote speakers will discuss the subject-methodological diagnostic program “Teacher’s pedagogical practices”, which is used to establish the teacher’s pedagogical profile, assess their readiness to work with children in the modern education content at the reflexive and functional levels.
