Webinar with Professor Otaviano Canuto

On October 29, the Institute of Law and Management and the International Relations Department invite students and teachers to join the webinar with Professor Otaviano Canuto,  executive director at the Board of the International Monetary Fund for Latin American Countries.

Professor Canuto will present the report ‘Whither Interest Rates in Advanced Economies: Low for Long?’ dedicated to the economic crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic, and the strategies devised by the banks of different countries to support their ecomonies.

The participants will have an opportunity to discuss with Professor Canuto the key issues of the webinar:

  • Crisis and recovery from COVID-19: divergence, length, and uncertainty
  • Jobs and labour markets after COVID-19

Professor Canuto is senior fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, a non-resident senior fellow at Brookings Institution, a visiting public policy fellow at ILAS-Columbia, and principal at the Center for Macroeconomics and Development

At the webinar the participants will have a unique chance to speak to the internationally renowned expert, ask questions, learn about the economic development of the U.S., Russia and other countries.

The webinar will be held in English with interpreting into Russian.
