On 29–30 October, Vice-Rector Evgeny Silyanov, Head of the Delegation, Head of the International Relations Department Daria Milyaeva, and Oksana Malykh, Interim Head of the Chinese Language Department, took part in the Russian education exhibition “Day of Russian Universities in Beijing.” The event served as a key platform for strengthening academic ties and establishing direct dialogue with prospective applicants from China.
The first day featured a methodological seminar devoted to Russian–Chinese academic cooperation, the specifics of student admission under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation, the promotion of the Russian language in China, and scholarship programmes offered by both countries. Following the presentations, participants had the opportunity to network and exchange professional experience in working with Chinese students.
On the second day, the MCU delegation presented the university, highlighting its experience of cooperation with Chinese partners and outlining promising areas for future collaboration. Particular emphasis was placed on priority academic programmes, the strong faculty, the university’s developed infrastructure, and opportunities for international cooperation. The presentation was attended by representatives of more than 30 Chinese companies engaged in student recruitment and the development of educational programmes between Russia and China.
One of the central elements of MCU’s participation was its exhibition booth, where university representatives engaged in live communication with prospective applicants, answered questions, and explained admission procedures and requirements. In addition, the event made it possible to reach a large online audience: Oksana Malykh delivered a live-streamed presentation in Chinese, introducing MCU’s current academic programmes and the experience of international students studying at the university.
Department for Strategic Development prepared a promotional video about MCU aimed at attracting applicants from China, which was launched on popular Chinese social media platforms. Promoting the university within the Chinese digital space will help attract more prospective students and increase MCU’s brand recognition.
Participation in the Russian education exhibition “Day of Russian Universities in Beijing” enabled MCU to strengthen its international presence and lay the groundwork for increasing the number of international students in the coming academic years.
