According to the migration rules of Russia, in case you leave the country before the expiry of your single-entry visa, you will not be able to obtain a multiple-entry visa. You will have to apply for a single-entry visa again in the country of your current residence.
The right to enroll in state-funded programmes at Russian universities is granted to the citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadjikistan and citizens of several other countries residing in Russia (please check the list of countries).
