What do I have to do if I want to leave Russia during studies?

Fill in the request form, have it signed by your Coordinator or Head of Department and send the scan of the document at visa@mgpu.ru

Do I need a visa when travelling outside Russia?
Please contact the embassy of the country you want to travel to and confirm the visa requirements.
Can I use the Russian student visa to travel to Belarus, Ukraine or Kazakhstan?
Please contact the embassy of the country you want to travel to and confirm the visa requirements.

Can I leave Russia before my single-entry visa expires?

According to the migration rules of Russia, in case you leave the country before the expiry of your single-entry visa, you will not be able to obtain a multiple-entry visa. You will have to apply for a single-entry visa again in the country of your current residence.

If I travel outside Moscow to other Russian cities, must I register again upon arrival in Moscow?
Yes, you must re-apply for registration in Moscow.

Can I book airline tickets to travel abroad if I have a single-entry visa?
You can book airline tickets only after having received your multiple-entry visa. Please contact the International Relations Department at inter@mgpu.ru to confirm the readiness of your multiple-entry visa.

What shall I do if my passport is damaged or lost?
Please contact the International Relations Department at inter@mgpu.ru and the embassy of your country for assistance in recovering your documents.

What shall I do if the visa in my passport is damaged?
Please contact the International Relations Department at inter@mgpu.ru for assistance in re-issuing your visa. NOTE: You will have to pay the visa fee again.

What shall I do if I have lost my migration card or registration?
Please contact the International Relations Department at inter@mgpu.ru as soon as you discover the loss of your documents to recover them.

What shall I do if I missed the deadline to extend my registration or visa?
Failure to meet the deadlines for document extension might lead to a substantial fine and possibility of deportation from Russia for 3 years. Please comply with the migration rules and take care of your documents in advance.

Admissions

Can I take regular entrance exams to enroll in state-funded programmes at MCU?

The right to enroll in state-funded programmes at Russian universities is granted to the citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadjikistan and citizens of several other countries residing in Russia (please check the list of countries). If you represent another country, please visit the Admissions page to learn how to apply.

Where can I find information about the tuition fees?
Every programme profile contains the information about the tuition fees. Please select one of the programmes here and visit the relevant programme page.

Do you provide visa support?

Yes, international students and faculty are provided with the following types of support by the International Relations Department:

  • Visa invitation
  • Registration with the Russian migration authorities
  • Visa extension for a study period or employment period
