Yulia Pokrovskaya, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Socio-Psychological Technologies and Corrective Developmental Methods at the Institute of Psychology and Comprehensive Rehabilitation, visited the high-tech equipment exhibition “Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics in China” (Guangzhou, Rehacare & Orthopedic China, R&OC).
Yulia Alexandrovna is an employer representative and heads the Logomag group of companies, which includes a specialised publishing house, the Verbum Laboratory for Special Education and Upbringing, the online portal “Speech Therapist Wizard,” and the Guild of Speech and Language Therapists and Special Educational Needs Specialists.
Founded in 2010, the exhibition is jointly organised by the China International Centre for Economic and Technological Exchanges under the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Guangdong Provincial Resource Centre for Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities. The event features an exhibition of rehabilitation products as well as approximately 100 rehabilitation forums and competitions. Having been successfully held for 15 years, the exhibition represents an integration of rehabilitation resources that is “cross-industry, transnational, and interdisciplinary” in nature. Today, it is one of the largest international exhibitions in the field of rehabilitation.
Attending the exhibition allowed the representative from IPCR not only to become familiar with global trends in the technological provision of educational and rehabilitation processes for people with special educational needs and disabilities, but also to establish contacts for the further integration of advanced methods and equipment into the system of special and inclusive education in Russia.
