The First Grand Conference of Moscow City University

Staff and postgraduate students are invited to the first open conference for practitioners and researchers of various profiles and areas of work at Moscow City University.

The first Grand Conference of MCU will bring together dozens of sections to present scientific results and methodological developments of different teams of the University. During the three-day marathon, every teacher and researcher at our University will have the opportunity to make a presentation and share the results of their research, as well as to listen to the reports of their colleagues.

The first day of the conference will be devoted to questions of new didactics in the digital age. Experts and speakers will discuss how big data is changing education, why digital content and hybrid learning have become part of the new normal, and how school discourses and children’s spaces are changing.

On the second day, the main focus will be on professional development and assessment. Discussions will cover mentoring and career trajectories, the transformation of training for professionals in language arts, physical education, and psychology, as well as the topic of effective assessment.

Finally, the third day will raise questions of socio-humanitarian practices and the modern city: what is the cultural code of the city, how its history and culture define the citizen, what can be useful modern international practices.

The breadth of topics of the conference will allow everyone to find an interesting section and report: from the cityscape as part of the educational program to comics as a model of transmedia narrative. From theater pedagogy for teacher education to the role of chewing gum in post-Soviet culture, from the role of nature in literature to teacher burnout.

The conference will take place from 28 to 30 June 2023 in a hybrid format. The main venues will be the buildings of the Institute of Humanities (4 Vtoroy Selskohoziajstvenny proezd, Moscow) and the Institute of Foreign Languages (5B Malyj Kazennyj pereulok, Moscow).
