International students whose stay in Russia is planned for more than 90 days must undergo a medical examination, fingerprint registration, and photographing before the submission of documents for visa extension, or within 90 days if visa is not required. Teaching staff members whose stay in Russia is planned for more than 30 days have to undergo the procedure within 30 days.

Please take into account that failing to undergo the procedure within due time may lead to an administrative fine, or reduction of the length of your stay in Russia.

Step 1. Medical examination

International students and teaching staff members have to undergo a medical examination once a year.

Students and teaching staff members can undergo the examination at the Moscow City Medical Center No. 3 at 22/26 Ermolaevsky pereulok, bld. 1. Office hours: Monday to Friday 8 a.m–3:30 p.m.

Please undergo the examination on an empty stomach.

During your visit to the Medical Center, please have the following documents and their copies prepared:

  1. Passport;
  2. Notarized translation of the 1st page of the passport;
  3. Visa;
  4. Registration card

At the Medical Center, please follow these steps:

  • Visit the Registration Office No. 107;
  • Submit the documents;
  • Fill in an informed consent to personal data processing and medical intervention;
  • Receive a medical records card;
  • Pay the service fee;

Currently, the service fee is 4,100 rubles (preferably to be paid in cash).

  • Visit the Registration Office No. 209;
  • Sign a medical service contract.

Having signed the medical service contract, please proceed to the medical check-up that includes:

  • X–ray;
  • Toxicology screening;
  • Blood test.

When you complete the examination, please submit the medical records card to the Registration Office No. 107, and ask about the date and time of the next visit.

At the appointed date and time, please attend the Medical Center, take your medical records card at the Registration Office No. 107, and visit one or several of the following doctors depending on the results of your medical check-up: a TB therapist, a dermatologist, and an infectious disease physician.

Having completed the examination, you will receive a medical certificate, an HIV-certificate, and a report by addiction psychiatrist.

Step 2. Fingerprint registration and photographing

This is a one-time upon arrival procedure required to be undergone by all international students and teaching staff members.

Please learn in advance, where you can undergo the fingerprint registration and photographing depending on your place of stay.

Please visit a local Migration Office during office hours.

At the Migration Office, please submit the following documents and their copies:

  1. Passport;
  2. Notarized translation of the 1st page of the passport;

Please note that the copies of passport and notarized translation must be stitched together.

  1. Visa;
  2. Migration card;
  3. Registration card;
  4. The results of the medical examination (no copies required).

When you complete the fingerprint registration and photographing, you will receive a plastic ID card that confirms the completion of the procedure.

Step 3. Contact International Relations Department

When you complete the procedure and receive a plastic ID card, please send a photo of the ID card via e-mail at International Relations Department inter@mgpu.ru.
