Mission and Strategy 2020–2025
This is an online space to present the MCU’s new strategy: its context, concept and projects
It is obvious now that to pursue the approach when all design and development trajectories are boiled down to a singular point where a strategy emerges is impossible. The next strategic stage for growth must be made by teams of people who are proactive and unique and eager to contribute to the purpose and development of the university.
Igor Remorenko, MCU Rector

NEW STRATEGIC CHALLENGES
Over the past few years, the Government of Moscow has been working to transform Moscow into an international, intellectual, financial, technological, and cultural center. Such megaprojects as the development of the urban transportation system, introducing digital services to the citizens, “The Moscow Electronic School”, “My documents”, “Active Ageing” transform the customary spheres of urban life and infrastructures.
The ongoing changes include more than just construction of new roads and street repairs, automating the workflow of the city’s services and establishing a single-window system for public queries, digitizing schools and creating comfortable learning environments. The projects delivered under the strategy “Moscow – the Global City” are changing people’s lives.
The main asset of a global city is its citizens and their potential.
MISSION
To create and disseminate new social and humanitarian practices for the city of the world and the world of cities.
University redefines its teaching potential and becomes involved in the development of the global city creating new purposes that are concurrently very inherent for MCU. It is only natural that the new practices of developing human potential emerge in such a special city of the world as Moscow. Therefore the mission of Moscow City University is to be a university for the globalized city.
