MCU Pre-University Center ‘Discovery’ helps students prepare for the college admissions process, make informed college choices, and prepare for success in the college classroom.
MCU Pre-University Center enrolls high schoolers in tuition-free selective programs (meant for college-bound students) with the focus on psychology and pedagogy:
- 9-10th formers can major in psychology and pedagogy in 10-11th forms
- 7-8th formers are oriented towards psychological-pedagogical field to be explored in 8-9th forms
Pre-University Training involves:
- Сomprehensive secondary high school syllabus
- Psychological-pedagogical disciplines (practical communication psychology, theatre of fact)
- Focus on the humanities (extra classes of Russian language and Literature)
- Extra classes of English
- Vocation-oriented courses (with a certificate of professional training awarded on their completion)
- Co-curricular training in professional studios and workshops (journalism, applied and decorative arts/commercial art and computer design”, drama studio in English)
- Tutors’ (professional psychologists) counseling on important academic and co-curricular decisions in class
- Lectures by university professors
- Exposure to the university environment (Pre-University Center is based in one of the MCU learning sites, stimulating students to take part in the university creative, sport and academic activities).
