The Program trains teachers for special education who are able to work with children and adults with impairments of hearing and vision. The alumni of the Program are able to:

  • study the development of children with disorders of hearing and vision;
  • communicate in Russian sign language and use dactylology;
  • teach visually-challenged children to read and write using Braille;
  • organize extracurricular activities in schools for hearing-impaired and visually-challenged children;
  • provide psychological and pedagogical support for a family raising a child with impairments of hearing and vision;
  • use special communication means with the deafblind such as tactile sign language, Lorma alphabet;
  • teach visually-challenged children to navigate in space;
  • use modern audio equipment for the training of the deaf;
  • teach children with impairments of hearing and vision at the mainstream school.
