The MCU Certification Center for teachers

The Moscow’s Center for Certification of Teacher Qualifications at MCU is an innovative space aimed at providing a high-level assessment of teacher qualifications and development of professional competencies and qualities of teachers. The Center’s work is based on the efficient methodological system that has been successfully applied within the project ‘Moscow’s Teacher Certificate’. Since 2017 more than 1500 students, and 263 independent experts from 114 educational institutions have participated in the project.

The Center’s activities:

Certification of students and graduates majoring in education science
Diagnosis of initial teacher competences of young teachers at employment by Moscow’s schools
Certification of teachers engaged in secondary vocational programmes
Assessment of professional teacher’s competences
Training experts in conducting assessment procedures for further participation in the Center’s certification projects
Evaluation of the professional progress of pre-service and employed teachers
Developing teaching competences at the workshops featuring analysis of lessons and teaching aids with moderators

For experts

By joining the expert community, you will be able to contribute to the development of highly-qualified educators, obtain access to the pool of talents and offer employment to pre-service teachers, as well as upgrade your professional skills by conducting independent assessments.

To become an assessment expert, you must comply with the following eligibility criteria:

Employed at an educational organization
More than 3 years of working experience in the sphere of education
Fulfilled training in conducting assessment procedures
Experience of participation in assessments is a plus

The experts can participate in the following assessments:

Assessment of a modular lesson / video lesson / online lesson
Assessment of interaction with parents / peers
Conducting job interviews

The Center invites educational organizations to cooperate within the following fields:

Expert certification
Participation in joint activities aimed at development of teacher competences
Offering internship opportunities for student teachers
Expertise of professional competences of your employees, diagnosis of initial teacher competences of teacher candidates
Screening of pre-service teachers for employment at your organization

For teachers

Certification is an independent assessment of teacher competences. If you are a young teacher, your knowledge and skills may be evaluated by a group of experts – potential employers and professional educators.

You can apply for certification if you are

An MCU student of the 2nd, 3rd, and final years
A teacher engaged in secondary vocational programmes
A teacher at school or other type of educational organizations
